This typical seventeenth century Sussex brick and flint cottage, completely restored with every modern comfort, is set in over an acre of its own grounds and is surrounded by beautiful downland countryside. The whole valley is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is a wealth of lovely walks and many other local attractions to enjoy (the South Downs Way is only a mile and a half to the north). Owner and Chef, Neil Rusbridger has lavished careful attention on the restoration of the cottage. The lovely interiors are tastefully decorated in cosy warm hues, with homely touches. Watch your breakfast being cooked in front of you on the Aga. The accommodation consists of four double/twin rooms and a charming single, all of which are en-suite, and are equipped with colour TV, direct-dial telephone, hairdryers and with little touches like fresh flowers, mineral water and good quality toiletries in the modern bathrooms. Room service will also bring you a light snack or your early morning tea. Neil, who until recently was the chef and co-proprietor at the adjacent White Horse Inn, prepares dinners for guests at the week-end, for houseparties, or for couples who come for a quiet break. These dinners are prepared for guests to enjoy the delights the seasons have to offer. Menus are discussed to take account of your likes and dislikes.
